Mujahideen destroy enemy armored brigade in Yemen and liberate suburbs of major city

Publication time: 10 April 2012, 16:19
At least 60 military puppets were killed and dozens others injured on Monday when a large unit of Mujahideen of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula attacked a base of the 111th and 119th enemy tank brigades in the suburbs of Lauder, province of Abyan, and then liberated the surrounding areas, reports Xinhua.

Fierce fighting broke out after the Mujahideen attacked a major army camp, consisting of several barracks of the 111th and 119th armored brigades in the outskirts of Lauder, 150 km north-east of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan.

Puppet officials in Aden said that as of Monday evening, the Mujahideen of Al Qaeda destroyed at least 60 puppet soldiers from the 111th brigade alone.

In the course of special operations, the AQAP Mujahideen were also able to eliminate five senior officers of the puppet army, commanders of 2 enemy army units, as well as to capture a large number of vehicles and heavy weapons. One of enemy military commanders said the soldiers from both units deserted the area.

In turn, the Command of AQAP reported on Monday night that 4 Mujahideen martyred (Insha'Allah) during the attack on Lauder and 16 others were injured.

"We managed to capture all the outskirts of Lauder town and seized three sites belonging to the government troops. We also besiege the town in which many government troops were trapped", a statement of AQAP said.

The Mujahideen emphasized that in the near future they would resume the attack on the city, and everything inside of it connected with the puppet forces will be destroyed.

In 2011, the Mujahideen liberated Lauder for the first time, but later abandoned it due to switching sides by several local tribes who allied themselves with the puppet regime.

Lauder is located in the northern province of Abyan (see map). According to the Associated Press, the city is strategically important for AQAP. A major airfield is located near the city. Lauder is positioned along the main highway connecting the capital of Abyan, Zinjibar, to the provinces of al-Baida, Shabwa and Hadramawt. In Shabwa, the Mujahideen have earlier taken control of the towns of Azza, al-Rawda, al-Hawta, and the coastal area of al-Rudum as well as the provincial capital of Ataq. In Hadramawt, AQAP controls the towns of al-Sadar and Jobb.

In this province, al-Qaeda is fully supported by local sheiks, elders and ulema, who promising to render them any assistance. Most of the imams of the mosques in the towns of Hadramawt spread the message that Allah had given victory to the Mujahideen and allowed them to liberate the entire province.

Recall that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:

"Verily, this Ummah is victorious thanks to the fallible Muslims - through their prayers, their prayers and sincerity".
(An-Nasa'i, hadith authenticated by Shaykh al-Albani).

Meanwhile, The Yemen Post wrote on Sunday that a special unit of the Mujahideen of AQAP eliminated enemy brigadier general Major Esmaeel Ba-Alwi who was one of the leaders of the puppet regime and chief of military intelligence in the province of Taiz.

The elimination occurred a day after the appointment of a businessman, Shawqi Hail Saeed, as the puppet "governor" of Taiz. Local sources confirmed that unknown fighters on motorcycles riddled the car of the puppet brigadier with bullets and left the scene without any casualties.

Later, the Command of al-Qaeda took responsibility for the attack on the high-ranking apostate, confirming that he was eliminated by two Mujahideen. AQAP Command noted that the brigadier was on the hit list of persons who are to be eliminated.

Another enemy senior figure, co-leader of the country's ruling political group, "General people's congress", which is still headed by Saleh, was attacked on Sunday by unidentified fighters in Saraf area on the outskirts of Sana'a.

Abdul-Alam Abu Nashtan, "secretary general of the council" was attacked about 35 km north of the Yemeni capital, in the area of Arahab, which resulted in killing on the spot of one of his bodyguards.

"When the car with the leader and his bodyguard were passing through the region, unknown persons opened heavy fire on the car, but Abu Nashtan miraculously managed to survive", the puppets said.

Meanwhile, unknown fighters also fired on a patrol of apostates in the southern port city of Aden on Monday, killing an enemy policeman and wounding 3 others. Two fighters on a motorcycle attacked the puppets when they were patrolling the area of Mansur in Aden.

"Three policemen were seriously wounded - a bullet hit one of them in the chest", a local puppet police officer said.

Also, on Monday, unidentified fighters ambushed an enemy police station in the area of Mansur, but there is no information on casualties among the puppets.
