Death Threats by ULFA Militant Group

Publication time: 12 February 2007, 01:25

Central Cabinet minister P.R.kindia, Former Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament P.A.Sangma and Former Chief Minister of the state of Meghalaya D.D.Lapang receive death threats by ULFA Militant Outfit. Due to the latest detention of a number of ULFA cadres by the security forces in Meghalaya , the militant group has given threatenings to the above mentioned persons. ULFA  leader B.Buragohain has asked the Police forces of Meghalaya to stop aiding the Indian Army based in Meghalaya.

He further said "Our members are tracking the location of these 3 people in Meghalaya. If the necessary action is not taken to stop aiding India Army, any of these 3 persons may be taken as a target as any moment. 6 ULFA militants were captured in the border areas of Ri-Voi district in Meghalaya. Another militant namely Kanu Rabha of the 109 Batallion was shot dead by the Indian Army last night,- Dainikagradoot reported.

But the Chief Commisioner of Police of Meghalaya William Rismond Maraniyang lamented that these threatenings are bunch of garbage by ULFA. The forces will continue working together with Indian Army to hunt down ULFA militants.

He also said that The security forces will try their best to capture more militants of the banned outfit.
The problem of ULFA targetting significant personalities is not a new matter. The people in the region needs peace but this banned outfit is not caring for the local people. If ULFA wants to bring about a solution in the region it has to hear the Call of the Creator without which its deeds are useless and worthless.
