Five US Tanks Destroyed, 5 US, 6 NATO Troops Killed in Afghanistan

On Sunday, December 10, 2006,  at 11:00 pm, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan Taliban using a remote-controlled landmine blew up  2 US  tanks that were part of  a US  military convoy in landmine explosion in the Takir  area of the Mezana district of the Zabul province . As the result, all US troops aboard  were killed and wounded.

 

Later on, two other tanks and one oil tanker were destroyed in an attack of the Mujahideen that lasted for  two hours . The burnt tanks could be seen on the area .

 

On Sunday, December 10, 2006,  from morning till evening,  the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan Taliban fired mortar shells on the invaders\' base in the Panjwai district of the Kandahar province. As the result, smoke and blaze could be  seen rising from the base and invaders\' soldiers  moved their  tanks to a  safer area. There were no details on possible casualties among the foreign troops.

 

On Saturday, December 9, 2006, at 6:00 pm,  US invaders pounded the Golthapa village in the Alishang district of the Laghman province, martyring 4 women and  a 2-year-old child.

 

It should be mentioned that the bombings go on for the last three days on this district.  Houses were destroyed and  civilians including  women and children were martyred.

 

In a statement issued on Sunday, December 10, 2006, Dr Muhamad Hanif, the official spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan Taliban, said:

 

\"We will not participate in the Jirga that will be held by US invaders, between Afghan administration and Pakistan government,  and  no mercenary Jirga  will be successful\". The  spokesman said he had not given any  interview to Reuters  on the issue, and rejected baseless reports about such an interview that had purportedly taken place.

 

On Sunday  afternoon, December 10, 2006,  the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan Taliban attacking the Farahrod district engaged in a battle with foreign troops in the Sangaki area of the Fahraod district of the Farah province. The firefight continued for 5 hours. As the result,  6 foreign invaders were killed and two military vehicles were destroyed.  3 Mujahideen were also martyred and 2 others were wounded.             

 

On Sunday night, December 10, 2006, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan Taliban using a remote-controlled landmine blew up a US military vehicle that was part of a US convoy in Pech Dara of the Kunar province . As the result of the operation, 5 US soldiers were killed, the Voice of Jihad reported.
