Publication time: 23 August 2006, 20:52

A Taliban Spokesman, Dr Mohammad Hanif, has reported of the killing of several US occupation soldiers in Southern Afghanistan.

In a phone interview with IRIB Pashto Radio, Hanif said Wednesday that a US tank Wednesday morning was blown up in Ghazi Village of the Gilan Town of Afghanistan\'s Ghaznei Province by Taliban\'s remote controlled mine, but there have been no report of the casualties.

The Taliban Spokesman also claimed that a car carrying the security commander of Afghan town of Joe Ghato in the Province of Ghaznei had been detonated by Taliban\'s planted mine, as a result of which 3 of his guardsmen were killed and two others wounded.

He also added that an Afghan government vehicle was attacked in Kharo Village of the Khak Town in Afghanistan\'s Province of Zabol Tuesday evening, leaving 8 Afghan national soldiers killed.

Elsewhere, Afghan-US joint patrols have been under Taliban\'s fire at different locations of Ghara Bagh Town in Ghaznei Province as a result of which three tanks and three personnel carriers were blown up.
