Operations of Mujahideen and the First Meeting of MSC in Chechnya

The Arabic website of the Chechen Mujahideen, alqoqaz.net, published an article  Thursday, August 3, 2006, reporting three operations targeting Russian soldiers, in addition to briefly describing the first meeting of the Mujahideen Shura Council in Chechnya under the leadership of Dokku Umarov.

 

According to the message, rockets were launched at a Russian base in the suburbs of , a military truck was detonated, and in Stari Atagi, a confrontation erupted between the Mujahideen and a Russian military battalion. Concerning the casualties, the report only mentions the presence of helicopters transporting the killed and injured soldiers, and smoke columns rising from the base.

 

For the Mujahideen Shura Council in Chechnya meeting, the article states that the war fronts were discusseâ between Dekov and the commanders of various military sections of Chechnya, planning operations to be executed this summer.
